my father past away in 1995,leaving no will.
he had remarried and me and sister being obviously none the wiser just believed
that the home, and any moneys would just go to his new wife.why would we think any other?

have just been watching bbc news here in uk.and the law states that if no will is left, the wife will get the first £125,000 and any moneys after get shared out to the children.

ok my question is have i left it to late to make enquiries?is there a cut off point. his new wife sold up the house and moved to the north of england pretty much after the funeral-we have no means of contact.

any help much appreciated

This is a US forum. In most states any will contest must be brought within two years. I would think any claim you might have had is time barred after 13 years but you can check with a local barrister I think is the correct term.
