Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Almost caught

Have several stuff placed in my grocery bag and have a toy which my daughter is bringing. I paid 1st for the toy and went around shopping again, noticed that there are 2 security waiting in front. We just went around and i have noticed the 2 security men are following me. I intend to ask my daughter get a milk so i can pay the other stuff (christmas presents and i dont want her to see those) but as I got scared i didnt ask her to get milk and we just paid all the remaining stuff on my bag and the ones under the stroller on the other exit. After paying , the 2 men approached me and told me that they know what im doing and ask me if i want this reported to the police. I said NO and they told me im not welcome to visit their store again and escorted me outside. Will there be police or court actions for that. They didnt even get my id, but maybe they know my details as i used my credit card? Appreciate any feedback or any same experience? What happens next? Haaayyy

You got a very big break. Be smart, don't go back to that store, EVER. Also, if you can't afford to buy it, don't steal it. Last, but MORE IMPORTANT, don't steal EVER; but don't take your kid when you do STEAL. You're teaching the CHILD

that it's OKAY to do what you do. Do you want your child to be a THIEF?

Thanks for the input. I have money to buy the stuff i got but I know a side of me said if i went out without being noticed, that's fine and will not do it again. But too bad, as they already know that i'm having thoughts of it already. But i did get scared coz i thought it's because i'm leaving my daughter in the toy section while im shopping on the other side. That's why i didnt ask her to get milk as it's far and i thought they'll arrest me for that. But it's the goodies they're after. Haaayyy

Does the warning apply to all branch stores? Coz i love shopping in that retail store as the washrooms are clean.

Thanks army_judge. You are very right. Is it likely they'll pass a picture of me or my name (in case they view my credit card) to other retailers/shops? Do i expect a letter from that retailer or a police knocking on our door??! Im now super scared to enter any stores, but i'm a single parent and i'm the one doing shopping/grocery. The thought of stealing those items - will be my 1st and last. Thanks for your time.

I think they'll let the sleeping dog lie, if you do.
Other shops have nothing against you, and I think the shop where this occurred will be satisfied if you stay away.

Thanks for the time and for being nice, army judge! I'm not innocent as that thought of stealing is with me already but still you are nice to me. THANK YOU! Haayyy
 
I am a retail theft consultant and answer questions like yours daily. You are best served not going to that or any store in their chain. It would violate the ban.

Just don't steal. It only makes thinsg worse, and if you get arrested (and your kid is with you), they'll take the child away.

If you can't do it for yourself, do it for your kid.

I'm sure you don't want your kid in foster care, you in jail as Christmas time and the holidays approach.

Remember, DDSS - don't do stupid stuff.

i really cant remember, Shrinkmaster. i was so scared and maybe i just nod the whole time (aside from saying sorry). all i remember is that he said that they dont want me doing business there anymore and i am advised to not visit the store. cant remember if he mentioned # of yrs or months, though. Does it mean, all the store chain/branches as well? haayyy
 
Yes it does. When a chain store bans you it typically covers all locations and sister stores. Stay out for 6 months or so then contact corporate ask for ban to be removed. Unless there was extreme circumstances they usually remove ban.
 
We don't know if or when they might remove the ban. As noted, I would wait at least 6 months if you are going to ask to have it removed. If they remove the ban, they most likely will be watching you if you return to the store.
