Alimony based on mental illness and workability

How is alimony based on a ten year marriage for the person with a mental illness that is found by the government as disabled? My husband have been married for ten years. I became sick 3 years into the marriage when we had our daughter. I've had 85 ECT's and am still in treatment with medication. The psychiatrist, psychologist and other doctors have deemed me incapable of holding a job in the immediate future. Possible later with cognitive therapy. The divorce only leaves me with disability payments that won't even cover rent for a place to live. What are my options or possibilities for alimony? Do you have any resources that might be helpful?
