If a schizophrenic commits a murder and is found "Not Guilty" because of their mental state, what follows? Are they "free?" Institutionalized?

What if during observation during their mandatory hold they're deemed unfit to stand trial?

This sound like it "might" be homework. Anyway, those are decisions the court will generally make.

In no state in this country will any verdict issue stating, "Not Guilty, because of mental state"!

Therefore, I can't answer your question with a precise legal analysis. Sorry.
