Alcohol & Drugs: MIP, MIC, Intoxication Advice!!!

Im 3 weeks from getting off my probation and i got an MIP last night. if i have to tell my probation officer, can i tell her it was for tobacco and not beer? on the ticket, it just says MIP. not MIP of Alcohol

So, you want to LIE to your probation officer?

They are likely to get a copy of any report or citation, and a lie is almost certainly going to result in a remand to custody.

But, it is your call ... and lying might even be an all new criminal offense.

And, while I know that TX does not generally indicate the code section on citatiosn for some odd reason, the term "MIP" is typically used for a minor in possession of ALCOHOL and not for possession of tobacco. But, like I said, if you want to risk it, go right ahead and lie.
 
Worst thing is that your probation will be violated. The fact that you are even considering trying to cover this up with a flimsy lie suggests that you still need to be on probation.
It is a minor offense, don't turn it in to something bigger by trying to cover it up.
The probation officer will see the police officer's report, not just the citation, and you will get nailed if you try to pass some other version by your PO.
