My divorce was finalized in May of this year (Oklahoma). In the divorce it states I must refinance the vehicle I was awarded into my name (the loan is in my ex name) within 60 days of the divorce. However, I am unable to re-finance this vehicle due to SUV's value being low in regards to what is owed on it.(I have tried the bank and trade in for a different vehicle) My ex is now threatening contemp charges. What will happen to me?
Also I am in severe debt due to medical bills (I am fighting cancer) and really cannot afford the payment for this vehicle. What would happen if I let the vehicle go back? Would I be thrown in jail or what consenquences would I face?
