Accident Civil Suit Filing Location

In filing a civil suit as a result of an auto accident, can I file in the county the accident occurred? Or do I have to file in the defendants county of residence?

You can choose whichever one suits your fancy in MOST cases.
I suggest filing in the county of occurrence, however.
