A co-worker robbed me $2,000

i had just started working at a new job.a co-worker and i were talking one day.i told him that i was in a bad money situation. as the conversation went on i mentioned that i knew people that lend money out and gain a 30% profit. he then said that he knows people that would borrow money and pay back 50% interest. he promised me that i can make a quick profit and convinced me to give him the money because the people he was gonna loan the money to, knew him and not me. i gave him a total of $2,000 dollars. the co-worker never loaned out any of the money and kept the $2,000 dollars. he would not give it back. Do i have a case at a small claim court? what is the possibility of me winning the case?
