I received a a Minor In Possession about one month ago in San Diego while attending a sporting event. The officer gave me a ticket with the citation code of 25662 (a) BP. Now I've looked around and seen this listed as a misdemeanor but I was charged with an infraction. I am 20 years old and at the time of the incident was about 5 months away from turning 21. I've been told that I could receive a maximum sentence of a 1 year drivers license suspension plus fine. My question is, is how likely is it that I will lose my license? Also what is the fine associated with this ticket? Also, the citing officer told me that I would not have to appear in court, but only pay a fine. I received my courtesy notice and it now say's that I must appear. Any help would be greatly appreciated
