Abandonded Lots with Dangerous Trees that Can Fall on my House

You haven't specified whether you have checked the county property records to see of the ownership has changed. If it hasn't, check the probate court records to see if the estate has been probated. If the son is not the actual owner, a lawyer letter isn't likely to change things.

Denied unemployment benefit because of lump sum after separation

Look at it this way. If those job searched had yielded a nice job you would have been $27K ahead of the game. Nope. Income is income. You pay income tax on the severance. Oh, which reminds me, check you withholding to make sure you have enough withheld to cover income taxes. If you are going...

Remind them that you can potentially win 3x and off to settle for 2x. Cash in hand at signing of the form. Don't sign first and expect them to pay after. They are obviously crooks. LOL.

    Fighting against guardianship

What do you mean by "trying"? Has he filed a petition with the court? Why? What does he think is wrong with you? Move out. Get a job. Support yourself. Don't do drugs. Don't commit crimes. Don't hang around with low lifes.

Denied unemployment benefit because of lump sum after separation

You haven't been denied benefits, only delayed. $60k per year = $1154 per week. $27k divided by $1154 = 23.4 weeks. Looks like you will have to wait 23 weeks to collect unemployment benefits. Hopefully enough time to find another job.

    Intestate estate

It's still closely related to the originally topic and having the history in one place makes it a lot easier on us to review and advise. Name them and I may be able to suggest alternatives. Would your sister ignore money? A partition action is going to be costly. The home is likely to be...

    Intestate estate

That doesn't make sense. What was the date that the sibling was served? What was the date that the default was entered? Clerks don't enter defaults, judges do, and the do it upon motion by the petitioner. On what grounds did the default occur and what did it say? What date? What date...

My dad passed and my isent on the deed

If the deed is in both their names as joint tenants or joint owners with right of survivorship then she became the owner at the moment of his death. If you have the deed in front of you, quote the ownership exactly as written. If you don't have the deed there, don't rely on memory, get a copy...

Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Relative stole everything from me

That's not in our nature. When wronged, we fight the good fight, win or lose. Imagine if you will, the morning of December 8, 1941, the voice of President Franklin D Roosevelt on the radio: "Yesterday, December 7th, 1941—a date which will live in infamy—the United States of America was...

I wasn't sure where else to put this, but what's the exact role of owners for cat-caused damages?

Cat poop on a car could cause cat-astrophic damage to the paint finish. (Let the cat jokes begin. LOL)

How to find a lawyer. One ringy dingy, two ringy dingy. "Law offices. Good morning." "Good morning. I would like to meet with a lawyer to discuss suing my mother for wrongfully disposing of my property. I'm willing to pay a retainer and the hourly fee. Do you have an attorney there that can...
