    My Health or My Job?

And you've exhausted your FMLA leave for this FMLA year? Or you won't qualify for more until you've worked 1,250 hours in this FMLA year? Does your employer use the calendar year for FMLA tracking? I'm a little unclear about how long you were out full-time, whether you missed any time...

Was the previous medical leave FMLA leave?

I couldn't make any sense at all of your post. Try complete sentences.

Reduced hours to care for sick mother, now being laid off.

Is your evil twin posting again, AJ? If not, your respect for the law, in my eyes, is reprehensible. That's 12 weeks per YEAR. That's almost 25% of the work year. And before FMLA, employees could legally be fired on day one of an absence due to having a serious medical condition, or...

Company Lied So I Would Accept a Job

Without a bona fide employment, I'm sorry, but no, there isn'y any legal action you can take. But I have to say, if there are "no other jobs", why wouldn't you have accepted this job even IF it were part-time only? Were you are on unemployment before? There's a reason I'm asking.

Heart Attack, FMLA and losing job

That is at the employer's discretion, once FMLA is exhausted.

Philadelphia Has Launched a Tax Amnesty Program

I'll bet there were a lot of regular responders hear who thought your post was meaningless, they just didn't say so because I already did. This is not the forum for rants; go somewhere else for that.

Philadelphia Has Launched a Tax Amnesty Program

Huh?????????? This was strictly an informational post, it didn't call for political commentary. (and btw, it's spelled bastion)

Heart Attack, FMLA and losing job

That's correct, her job is legally only protected under the FMLA for 12 weeks. Disability is how she gets paid when she is ON leave; it does not confer any job protection, only the FMLA does that.

    Company seeking damages

Ignore them unless/until they actually file suit; then get a good employment law attorney, who can probably get the case thrown out before it even gets before a judge.

    Favortisum what can I do

Nope. Favoritism is not illegal, unless it is based SOLELY on a protected characteristic, such as your race, gender, religion, national origin, etc.

Drug Crimes, Substance Abuse Drug testing in the workplace

It doesn't matter if they say the Bible says it's mandatory; if the employer wants to make certain certifications or licenses mandatory, they can.

Scammed by a seasonal employer. . . can he pursue legal action?

Sounds like a scam to me. Your partner should contact the Attorney General's office in Alaska.

Resigned with Notice, Fired Before Notice Up

Did this employer have at least 50 employees at his job location or within a 75-mile radius?

Denied right to due process by employer

Ok, whatever. You should probably contact an attorney, though.

Resigned with Notice, Fired Before Notice Up

He wasn't fired. The employer merely accepted his resignation earlier that the last day he desired. The employer doesn't have to take the employee's word for any medical restrictions. Did he provide a doctor's note? The note itself need be given no weight unless FMLA applies, just asking...
