Corrupt CPS

I have had my 4 children placed in kinship placement, due to 3 separate, but all equally false and slanderous CPS reports. I am waiting for the results of a drug screen for them to determine their next move. I'm at a loss as how to fight the lies and lack of evidence they are building their case on, and they are failing to see the damage being done to my children by tearing them apart and away from their home. Short of hiring an attorney, and I will probably have to get a public defender due to my income, does anyone have any advice on fighting them?

If the reports are false and lacking evidence why did you agree to have your kids removed from the home?
If a court did not order them removed you were not obligated to do so, and you can have them back whenever you like.

I'm not clear why you say they are corrupt. You didn't really get into any details on that, other than that you just disagree with what is happening.

All public defenders are qualified, licensed attorneys.

I suggest you pursue obtaining one.

Until you have an attorney, you do yourself no favors by repeating any of this to anyone but your attorney.

The reports state drug use, specific to meth, (I've complied with a drug test) the condition of the home, (They cited an "overflowing trashcan" in one report) and I did agree to kinship placement, because I didn't want to risk a judge placing them in foster care, and that was my understanding if I refused kinship, was that would be the next step. I admitted to them the couple of times I did use, away from my children, and haven't used other than those, my drug screen will be clean, but the slanderous accusations and allegations of me being a strung out, hard core junkie are appalling. Obviously the allegations are too much to put in here in detail, I know who originated the allegations and reports, and I'm guessing it's in my best interest to get an attorney?

That was 1. a stupid thing to do and 2. a stupid thing to admit. It doesn't matter if you use drugs around or away from your kids. Especially freaking meth. That's the worst damn thing you could do.

Yes you need to find a lawyer - yesterday. You've dug yourself in deep on this one.

Yep. Arguing the test results doesn't make any sense if you've already admitted use.

You need legal help to minimize the damage done.

It isn't slander if it is true. You DO use drugs. It doesn't matter that it isn't near the kids. You don't get a pass on that. A parent of 4 kids who uses meth EVER is extremely problematic and if you don't see that then yes, you DO need CPS involved. That there are multiple separate reports and an admission from you raise all kinds of red flags. This is why there is a CPS. They are trying to make sure it doesn't get to the point where your "couple of times using meth" aren't "hard core totally strung out all the time junkie completely neglecting your kids".
