    I want custody of grandson

Perhaps, but OP doesn't need any false encouragement. OP is not going to get custody of her grandchild as we've all told her.

    I want custody of grandson

Do not mislead this poster. She can consult an attorney in her area all she wants and nothing will happen because she lives in NY while the child is in Michigan. Further she has been given appropriate advice. Unless she can prove BOTH parents completely and utterly UNFIT (meaning that they...

    Custody Issue

That is correct! NY declares a person an adult at age 18 where custody and visitation are no longer a concern BUT you pay support to 21 (last I knew). You have to file to stop the support since your son will be living with you.

Question about grandparents rights intact family

Since OP mentions that her oldest is 16, she will have slightly less to worry about. The older the child is in a gpv case, the more their desires are listened to. If the 16 year old wants nothing to do with her grandmother, the court is not going to force a relationship. With that said, I...

    Grandparent threatening visitation right

Unless Wisconsin is different from other states that temporary will come with the original petition or be brought up in her first hearing. A simplified version of what you're saying is "violation of my rights to due process". I repeatedly stated that at my first hearing because my lawyer...

    Grandparent threatening visitation right

First, there is much you can do until you actually receive the petition. I am more familiar with NY/PA law concerning GPV. I'm finding conflicting information. I'm finding some that say as an intact family that you cannot be sued and some saying that you can. Look for information wrt...

What rights do we have to restrict Grandparnet access to grandchildren

Just so you understand. There is no such thing as grandparent RIGHTS. Grandparents have no inherent rights to their grandchildren. GPV is about preserving the already established relationship. He could attempt to sue you but I don't think he'd get far with the information that I've looked up...

What rights do we have to restrict Grandparnet access to grandchildren

The grandfather would have to file a suit in the state that the children reside in. For the quick look, I'm not sure that he'd gain standing as you are an intact family. How much contact does he normally have with the child/ren?

    Well, it's the truth.

That's what I was thinking as well. Glad it's not just me.

Child Custody - Child now Adult

Hey Pro.....his insistence that it was HIS idea makes me think something is rotten in Denmark.

Child Custody - Child now Adult

Your argument is flawed and wrong. So why are you repeating yourself?

Child Custody - Child now Adult

That is where you are 100% incorrect. US law does NOT favor the mother. US law is the best interest of the child. I cannot put myself in your shoes. I do not believe for one second that you remember things correctly from when you were 7.

Child Custody - Child now Adult

And this shows that you truly do not understand the severity of what your father did. At 7 years old, you did not either. As a CHILD you could NOT make that decision. Furthermore, your father had other avenues that he could have pursued LEGALLY had you truly been abused.

Child Custody - Child now Adult

I thanked you cause I was refraining from saying it. I don't think OP understands that.
