Looks like I'm the winner for the coming week.
I was just out mowing so the top and bottom of the property kind of match. It's sunny and warm enough - 78 - so I worked up a sweat. Had to recharge the batteries, so figured I'd turn on a fan, cool down some... Uumm... I just pulled a throw over me because I'm cold, but don't feel like getting up to turn the fan off!

Please, we need the heat. We love the beautiful sun, it is so hot. We love our sun. It keeps us healthy, happy, and tanned.
Never speak ill of our delightful, helpful, beautiful sun. Without our sun, we'd all be dead in less than 90 days.It's not the sun I mind...it's the intense, unrelenting, scorching, glaring, burning heat of it that annoys me. Other than that, I love it.

No rain here until Sunday, and then daily, but minimal amounts... like a quarter inch or less/day. Which is mostly how it's been all summer, with a few exceptions. My creek is very close to bone dry.
That said, even with the creek, I have little concern wrt flooding. The house is midway up a reasonably-sized hill, then the creek is another ~50 feet below. Except for where the back 40 levels out, where flooding could be an issue. I'll keep an eye on that wrt the neighbors...

I remember mother calling my name when I was 9 years old and it started raining. She wanted me to get on the porch to avoid getting drenched. Other than that, I think I recall my neighbor mentioning that he hoped it would rain, because his garden needed the moisture.
