Hi, I hope everyone is fine.
I am worried for a legal issue in which I can be tangled sooner or later. That's why I need some legal guidance.
I started a project few months ago and I am dead serious on this one.
If anyone here has some knowledge for copyright stuff, please let me know by replying to this thread. I am having issue with Government properties as well as private properties too.
I will discuss the issue once someone replies the thread so that I can be sure regarding my matter being taken a bit seriously.

Well I can discuss now..

I am running a news website that posts the latest news from the Gambling world, from all over the world.
Recently i started about posting the national lottery updates too in my website.
Those updates include the results of that desired lottery too.
So in some of the lotteries it says "Public domain" just like in the Philippines PCSO lottery service. So I am relaxed about posting their results and updates as I can not get tangled in copyright but what about those national lotteries that are not clear on whether they are Public domain or not.
Can you guide me abit?
Will I run into a copyright issue with these stuff?
I contacted various of them and they don't seem to reply.

Sorry, this website discusses laws of the USA only because we have no responders with knowlege of any other nations.

You should discuss the matter with one of the fine solicitors in the UK.

Regardless of the country, I can not imagine that publishing the results of a lottery could be conceived as any kind of infringement. The results are public information and typically distributed in various forms of media.
So long as it is clear you are providing publicly available drawing results and you are not alleging to be involved with the lottery in some way it is unlikely there could be a problem.
It is not much different than publishing the results of an election.
That said, publishing numbers is one thing, but using their logos and other images could be a problem- so it is about the way you present it.

Exactly, I was thinking the same. As long as I am not using their logo and any sort of media like pics videos etc then I consider myself on the safer side. Well Thank you soo much. Helped me alot. Don't worry I would still try my best to get my hands down on some legal professionals.

Alright, would consider that for UK but one part of my site shares US related queries too. What about all of this stuff for US?
Surely I won't take internet guidance for granted but my vision needs baby steps now.

Don't risk your business and reputation by seeking FREE advice on complex legal matters.

Your issue requires a licensed solicitor in the UK.

You might eventually require a licensed US attorney.

You'll know more after you discuss the matter with a solicitor licensed to practice law in the UK.

You might even have legal issues with other nations.

Logically speaking (not legally) it is probably difficult to prosecute a case as a result of what is likely limited damages for posting final numbers such as you've mentioned for intellectual property cases since, e.g. 6 numbers are easily shared and what are the damages to the lottery? If people can very easily share numbers (and they likely do) then what damages can there be?

But let's shift from intellectual property law to gambling law or 'lottery law' and those which may be in the interest of the local government. Is it possible that they may prohibit the posting of 'winning numbers' to prevent fraud or the repercussions of misrepresentation from occurring? Certainly it's possible but I can't tell you the likelihood nor point to any specific examples of lottery law which apply regarding publicizing winning numbers or other results of gambling activities.

Many sites seem to publish lottery results. I wouldn't rely upon them simply because they do it. But you may be able to see what credible sites are publishing certain lottery results and begin researching what seems to be the most likely sources of gambling / lottery results which should be able to be published without legal or other problems. Obviously, the best advice you can receive is from an experienced attorney familiar with local gambling and lottery laws for each jurisdiction. Good luck.

Well thanks all. I am thinking to limit my project to my country only then see the outcomes. It's easy to get legal advice here and all kinda stuff. So I am now trying to limit my website to cover news from my country and then eventually i would expand and grow. Thanks all for the responses. Made me find a specific direction
