I am an International Student in Hawaii. I am orginally from Germany here on an F1student visa. In addition, I am pregnant and my due date is, 8 December 06. The father of my child is a US citizen in the United States Army. Sedrick (the father) will claim our son as his dependant, declaring the baby as an American citizen. We are planning to marry in summer 2007.
I would like to know if this would change my status, if there are any rights offered to me, due to my soon to be child and Sedrick, his father both being American citizens.
Does this allow me to stay within the U.S under a new visa status?
I am trying to find a way to take this coming spring semester 07 off, to tend to our baby and get adjusted to this new situation. I know I am required to be a full-time student, except of medical reasons. Is there a way to legally take some time off?
