Hi!
I'm turning 18 on July 5, 2006. I will be attending the University of South Carolina. I moved from my parents home on the last day of high school into an apartment near campus. I pay my own bills, and I work about 20-25 hours a week. I also have a substantial scholarship; however I'll be getting a loan for about $2500.oo a year for school. Question: If my parents DO NOT claim me on their taxes, when will I become eligible for government assistance with school? At this point, I receive no assistance because they are both teachers with income too high for me to meet qualifiacations. They also claimed me on their taxes last year, but do not intend to do so this year.
