Water from the cracked drain of the toilet in my condo caused damage to the condo below mine. Am I legally required to pay for repairing it? There was no visible indication at all of anything being wrong with the toilet, which was in the condo when I bought it.

You will have to read your CC&Rs to determine if you were liable by contract. The CC&Rs are the contract you agreed to be bound by when you bought your home.

If the CC&Rs don't impute strict liability to you then you would only be liable if your negligence caused the leak.

From what you have written I don't see that happening.

Why? Is somebody pointing at you and saying "Your fault, I want your money."?
