Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft five dollars worth of merchandise..caught shoplifting

It's the store owners decision to press charges, not the cops. Its not a "waste of time", I've delt with cops before who are lazy and don't want to take the time to do paperwork on a shoplifter. They might feel its a waste of their time, but the store does not. Rant done.

Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Need Help with Civil Recovery!!!

We prosecute even after being paid Civil Demand. Civil Demand is what a lot of store use to offset the cost of having to hire store security. If people didn't steal, they wouldn't have to spend the money on guys like me or my employees to catch shoplifters.

Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Shoplifted with police involved

You went into a fitting room with shorts. You came out without shorts. You left the tags in there, but no shorts. 2+2=4. Oh, and the "keep walking" tactic usually gets you handcuffed.

Most jobs will run a background check on you. If its a retail job, or a job handling money, you're out of luck, no one wants to hire a theif. I go through applications here at my store and if it says "theft" under any criminal charges I put it in a do not hire file.

Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Didn't Get Caught but Freaking Out

Don't go back to the store. A "smalled older" store will recognize you much faster than a "big box" store if they noticed stuff missing, they might have had a few enough customers to narrow it down to you. And they may have cameras, so if they did get you on video, they might just be saving the...

Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Caught.. Don't really know what to do..

Depends on if there is a deversion program, and your record. And its not always best to plead "not guilty", talk with your lawyer, but if they have you on video, you admitted to the theft in front of officers/security etc pleading not guilty wastes everyones time and taxpayers money. Sometimes...

Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Stolen $30 worth of groceries, adult, no priors, OH.

Dobut you'll get any jail time unless you're on parole/probation or if you have an extesive record. Do expect fines, possibly a civil demand from the store from anywhere from $50-$700 and the court fines if they charge you.

Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft My friend shop lifted and security took both of us in.

Personally, I want any accomplace I arrest to take active part. i.e. be lookout, try to block cameras, help rip tags, hold open bags, carry, etc.

Remember, we're getting her account of what happened. Most guilty people like to leave out bits and pieces.
