Misleading talent scout business practices - what to do?

Understanding your options, you can do all of the above if it makes you feel better about feeling scammed but as army stated...that is all you may gain from it. At the very least contacting your credit card company <not bank card> may prove to be valuable. Filing a dispute as we all now means...

Eeek...This is where the experts on this site come in...I am curious of the answer myself...sorry I can't be of help...I wanted to throw that out there to see if there were other options for you and mom. I suspect that you are correct in your inquiry ? - chances are yes, you would. And you...

    credit card threats to sue/judgement

Well said Army judge...and all that you advise...what are the chances of Chase actually going through the motions and placing the lien??? Although I've seen it done for less money when not responded too. Wouldn't it be wise to dispute the 10 day...have mom put the home in the daughters name...

    Defendent Dodging Being Served

Unfortunately there isn't a whole lot you can do at this moment. Be patient, allow the process to work and it will happen eventually. I am in the same line of work and have an identical situation going on. It's been months trying to have him served. We have a second court date now since he...

What R my chances of winning unemployment appeal?

Just read your re-post * WTG!!! Honestly after reading through this site and the advice given...it almost seems with the "at will" status most states prescribe too...you can get fired/laid off/temporarily laid off/out on FMLA/STD/FTD and so on and risk everything. Again...great job!!!

What R my chances of winning unemployment appeal?

Curious here...you do not say if the "reprimand" was put in writing? Hopefully in situations such as this it was and you were asked to sign above the person reprimanding you. I agree with Pat, you cannot cross examine a document, but when an employer puts something in writing...your chances...

Not hired because I am a woman

If it were me...I would definitely solicit an email from her outlining the reason you were not hired. I would explain you need it for unemployment or something of the like. Get it in writing without tipping her hand. They can dispute a conversation, but something in writing is golden...or at...

"Laid off" after returning from FMLA leave

Thank you Pat for your response. I guess where my confusion still lies, received a good to fair evaluation and pay raise in Dec, 2009 - although there was animosity, it didn't affect my job as we didn't communicate often and I was segregated to another area other than the main office. I got on...

"Laid off" after returning from FMLA leave

Hey guys...after reviewing my post...it is very important to clarify...I am back to work - but NOT with that company. Thanks for reading...I hope to know that they cannot continue to "get away" with stuff like this. Some history...it is a small company founded and run by small town...

"Laid off" after returning from FMLA leave

Hi, I cannot let this go without fully following through. March 5, 2009 after returning from FMLA leave, I was called to HR and told that my position was eliminated and I was laid off permanently. I kinda knew this would happen as I wasn't in the clique at work and my new boss and I didn't...
