Most states you have 3-10 days to rescind some types of contracts. Check your statutes and your contract and If you're within that time frame, act now, immediately.

That means nothing. People refer unlicensed people all the time, some unknowingly. Do some digging. Where I'm from there are tons of unlicensed guys running around that are busy. Would you want shoddy work done on a roof of your rental property? Landscaper? Maybe, but roofer?
