    Divorce w/child Question

In a nutshell it is not a good idea to expose the kids to the parents love lives this early. BUT the mother probably cannot do much. She can ask that nobody from the opposite sex that is not related spend the night and the same provision would apply to her as well. Who knows if she would get this.

    Jurisdiction Descrimination

Unless you filed an appeal I do not know how you can get your children back. Your attorney should have been able to prove you were not correctly served. Did you give Dad your address when you moved? Something with your story does not make sense. If Dad and the courts gave you the ok to move...

Please HELP! Absent Schizophrenic Disabled Father Wants Custody, hearing is in a week

His mother has no obligation to pay support, support will come from the father. Again you really need an attorney to prove the man is mentally unstable and that he is a danger to the child. I agree that Dad should only have supervised visits but this is why women should not have babies with...

Please HELP! Absent Schizophrenic Disabled Father Wants Custody, hearing is in a week

So you get pregnant from a guy you barely know but yet managed to avoid pregnancy for 5 years your fiancee for 9 years? WOW. With that said, this guy as the father will have some rights. His previous DUI, or lack of a car does not matter. Many parents have DUI's that is not a big deal. CPS is...

My son wants custody-girlfriend has issues

Well your son is foolish to be having a baby with a woman with so many problems. With that said he has no rights until the child is born and paternity is established. If IL has a presumptive/putative fathers registry, he needs to sign up for it. Dad is going to probably need an attorney. Maybe...

Which parent is more likely to get custody?

Why can't you guys agree on joint.shared custody? You do relaize that if you did this about 90% of the fighting would be over. Can you guys sit down and try to work something out? If you both can be civil about this I guarantee both of you will be much happier and so will your kids.

No help getting child support & arrears - What do I do?

Child support case workers are not miracle workers. If the father is absolutely bent on not paying child support, he won't. Have you pressured your case worker to submit to this to the AG';s office? Dad could be threatened with jail or a suspeneded license. Is Dad employed? If he has no assets...

    Tough Case - NEED ADVICE

Does Dad have insurance on the child? As long as the mother has the child on state aid/insurance the state is going to ask Dad to pay child support.

Yes by signing the birth paperwork at the hospital. If that is not done then in most cases a DNA test usually must be done.

Do my parents have the right to keep my children if we never went through court?

It does not sound like your parents have any court ordered custody, so you should be able to legally pick up the kids. Is your child support court ordered? Have your kids even met your husband? I am not so sure having your kids share a home with a man they do not even know is a good idea either.

    Alimony question--California

You definitely need to see an attorney. You should be entitled to possibly lifetime alimony based on a 23 yr marriage, or at the minimum, 12-15 years alimony. is he willing to let you move into the rental and pay the mortgage? I would not accept that because if he defaults on it, it will...

    Don't know what to do

Dad needs to see an attorney. See if legal aid can help him. Grandma should not get custody of the kids, but Dad needs council. If he moved 6 hours away and did not file for custody then that is problematic. He can call legal aid and see if they can help him.

    emancipation?

Why in the world would you be better off on your own? How do you intend on supporting yourself? There is no way a court is going to emancipate you as you have no way to support yourself financially. Do you have any help with the twins? How are you supporting them? Have you dropped out of school?

I know how expensive Manhattan is I'm actually visiting there in 2 weeks. But you do not get to live in Manhattan if you cannot afford it. Child support: my rights, what's likely, the procedure

Do you actually have a nanny making 30k a year?? Even for Manhattan 600/week is totally unreasonable for daycare especially if you have a nanny. Is it normal for couples to spend this much on daycare? I do not see how you or Dad can be able to afford to pay this astromical rate for babysitting...

My step daughter just took baby's dad to court for child support and visitation. He had not seen the child at all up until court. The child is now 11 months and Dad just started with supervised visits. The father did ask that the name be hyphenated, judge agreed. What is also surprisng is that...
