On thursday I received a Writ of Summons regarding some money that I owe to a Creditor. They are asking the court of put a Lien on my house for the amount I owe them. If I go to court, what could happen? What judgement besides the lien could there be? I don't have the money to pay them. My husband and I are trying to get on our feet and just managed to work something out with the mortgage company for the house. I am not sure what to do??? And what happens if they do put a lien on the house?

Thank you
Christina

Whether you go to court or not, they can get a judgment against you.

It could be a lien on your house.

They could also get your checking account.

They could latch on to your paycheck.

Should I try calling the lawyer and working something out?

Money talks.

Get a pile of money and start talking.

They don't want promises ... they want money.

You promised to pay them the first time.

Now what do you have to offer them?

More promises?
