An employee alleged that I threatned bodily harm to him as a result I was terminated.
While his accusations are false I am aware that I don't have a right to prove them wrong in the work place, but since the allegations were of a criminal nature and cannot be proven and as a result I lost my job and means of support I want to file a claim against the employee that will "hopefully" flush out the truth, while my job is gone for good, I want to know is it worth it to file a suit against him to reclaim monetary damages?

It seems that you would have a defamation action against your co-worker. His lies enabled you to be terminated causing loss of income and emotional distress! I think it would be slander per se meaning the defamation directly resulted in damages.
