Is there a specific time frame that this has to be done so we can wait the six months and settle the estate?

The answer to your question is in the Missouri probate code. You'll need to know a lot more than just that so you might as well familiarize yourself with all of it.

I read all that but could not find if one has a specific time that it has to be posted after the death.

Hire a probate attorney. Administering an estate is not, in my opinion, a good DIY project.
