What to do when my Roommate Splits

My roommate and I both signed a 12-month lease (we are co-tenants and make one monthy payment). She paid her half of the rent the first month and informed me she is moving (out of the state), and not planning to pay any more rent for the remaining 11 months. We live in the state of Florida.

If I take out a loan to pay her portion of the rent (about $9000), is it realistic that I could expect to recoup this money by suing her across state lines?

If I continue to live in the apartment and pay only my half of the rent, am I absolutely powerless against eviction?

Can the landlord keep her security deposit (equal to her half of one month's rent) and apply it towards next month's rent to "buy" me another month?

Thanks in advance!
