I was driving my 9 year old daughter to school last week. We were stopped at a red light. The light turned green and I started to go throught the intersection. Then a car pulls right in my path and I could not avoid him and we crashed into his drivers side door. It was not my truck but was covered by insurance and the owner will get money for it. I had a sprained neck and some bruising on my chest and my daughter had pain from the seat belt. It was a city official and the mayor came to the hospital and signed a statement saying I ran a red light. They determined it was not my fault. Should I now try to sue? Or would I have a case?

Who is "they"?

If your medical bills have been covered, it is very likely that they are the ones with standing to sue for their costs, and not you.
