A 28 y.o. friend of mine had a small get together at his house & had a keg. He had some people over including some under age 21. Everyone was drinking. Later in the evening, an 18 y.o. choked on his vomit & ended up passing away. Can anyone tell me what kind of charges the 28 y.o. might be facing? Thx.

This is the worst possible outcome of such a case, and one reason why people should take this whole MIP business very serious.

Depending on the circumstances this can easily lead to manslaughter charges for the person responsible, which means he could face many years in prison.

He also could be sued by the family of the deceased for wrongful death which could cost him all that he owns.

The details depend on the state law and the circumstances of the case.
