wage garnishment

Hello everyone ,
i would like to thank you in advance for any advice you can give me ,

I am going through a divorce ,
my estranged wife and i have a joint vehicle loan for her van and my truck,
now to cut a long story short we got behind on the payments and the bank have now repossed my truck ,
and my wife informs me that they are about to take her van
she has been in contact with the bank and pleaded poverty,(she does not work and is claiming disability)

she has told me that the bank plan to garnish my wages for the full amount of the loan,
my question is
can the bank do this ? or are both parties liable for the debt

Both parties are liable - jointly liable. That means the bank can come after either you or her for the full amount. If they do come after you, you could have a claim against her (for all the good that will do you) for indemnity.
