Wage Garnishment

A debt collection agency summoned me to court. I spoke with an individual at the firm and he said that I didn't have to go to court but to call after the court date to make payment arrangements. Now I'm being told that unless I pay $125 a month, my wages are going to be garnished. I am having medical problems right now and I ahve two kids to take care of. Is there anything I can do to stop the garnishment?

So since you did not show up I am assuming they got a judgement against you?

If that is the case then you need to make some arrangements that you can afford and they will accept-- otherwise there is no way to stop the garnishment unless you file bankruptcy
