I'm 18 years old and I was recently pulled over for speeding. This was my first time ever being pulled over.
On top of the speeding ticket, I was driving a rental car for which I was not on the rental agreement. This ticket is a must appear.
To be completely honest I'm kind of scared.
I planned on getting a public defender.

What are my outlooks?

You received traffic citations. I don't think you'll be given a public defender. You are free to retain your own attorney. In fact, in this case, it might not be a bad idea. At yoyr first appearance, simply plead not guilty. Then ask the judge for a continuance of five to six weeks while you obtain enough money to hire an attorney. I don't know what attorneys charge in MD, buyi Texas it might cost between $700-2,000. Start asking around. Two tickets at yoyr age won't mean prison or jail, but the fines could break you, and your insurance rates will skyrocket.
