I am an interior designer. I recently met with a new potential client. We discussed my fee structure and they said that it was fair and I asked if the wanted to continue. They said yes and we scheduled a subsequent meeting to go to a local design center to shop for wallpaper, fabric etc.
The day that I was to pick them up for shopping I presented them whit a written copy of our agreement and was told that they would sign and mail it. Off we went shopping for 6 ½ hours
I presented them with an invoice for my time and was later sent a letter from their attorney that they owed me nothing because we did not have a written contract.
Any advice?
