unusual repossession story, help, please

very very long story short, havent made a payment to toyota financial on a 2002 corrolla in more than 4 years. they never sent it to any collection agency, and they never wrote me or tried to call me. i am serious about this. all of a sudden i get a call from some place in ohio saying toyota hired them to repossess my car. so i call toyota and make a deal to settle what i owed them in 2004 and i can keep it free and clear. my question is, since in NH the statute of limitations is 3 years, if i did let them repossess it, can they come after me for the difference of what they get and what i owe, or would that still be covered under the stat? thanks
