Alcohol & Drugs: MIP, MIC, Intoxication Unlawful Possession of Marijuana in NY

My charge is unlawful possession of marijuana in the state of new york, while i myself am from new jersey. Though they found two marijuana pipes in my bag, the judge recommended i plead not guilty at my initial hearing. My pre-trial conference is on the 31st of May and I need to know the best way to go about the situation and what story/convictions to stick by. I appreciate the help, thank you.
