My daughter (17) was struck in a hit and run accident. When the police came and the accident was explained, she wasn't given a citation and no report was taken. I came to the The police explained to her that the other car was probably driven by an illegal alien who did not have a license, insurance, registraion, etc. We do not carry collision insurance on her vehicle as it would be 5 times the price of liability inusrance. But we do have an unisured motorist clause in the policy. The insurance company says that they are not responsible since there was not citation or report on and "unisured motorist". They do have a claim open but are basically refusing to pay. Any help or advice on this would be appreciated. Is my inusrance company liable for the "Uninsured Motorist"?
