Last night, me and 4 of my friends were at Green Lakes State Park in New York State.
We were drinking a little bit, had some beer and liquor in a cooler.
We were approached by two park rangers, who issued the five of us tickets.
The tickets are for Underage Posession of Alcoholic Beverage.
In Violation of Section 401.5 Subd. C
I am hoping to plead not guilty to this charge, and am wondering what action(s) I should take.
If it Matters:
-The alcohol was in the cooler and trunk of our vehicle
-Upon reading (and I still have a copy of) the Park Rules, there was no mention of alcoholic beverages at all
-Four of us were allowed to leave to use the bathroom, when we returned the trunk was opened, it was not opened by any of us nor our friend who remained with the cops, and the cop was searching through the trunk
-After searching through the trunk we were forced to dump more alcohol that was found in the trunk
-No breathalizer was administered to any of us
