If one have a Power Of Attorney register thru the court for a elderly person . When one goes to Social Security with the person to manage the elderly person finance thru Social Security, well that person will be by Social Security as a tutor or a payee. If you have power of attorney for a beneficiary who is found incapable of managing their own benefits, you must still file an application to serve as rep. payee with the Soc. Sec. Admin.

That person is a Rep Payee. They should go to the bank and start a Rep Payee account.

Yep - for soc. sec. you are a representative payee. That is why I said you had to fill out an app. to become a rep. payee.
