Truancy

My son was charged with truancy in Texas. He went to court (he was 18 at the time) and was fined $264.00. He elected to do community service. Do to his work schedule he never had time to do community service. He went in to pay the fine and was told he still has to show up in front of the judge. Is it right that he was charged with truancy since he was 18 already?

The time to argue that, if it could be argued, was before court not now.

Agreed. however, he paid the fine, and most judges, barring some circumstances you have neglected to share, should conclude the case.
