So took something from store kiosk, store called, I paid with check, and had me return it, cops were present, never signed anything, no store management. What gives? Was this just good hearted America?
Ok, so if I get this letter will it ever appear any where outside of the internals of the store? I know civil action (outside of court) is not released to the public, as credit or background checks, so why would one not want to pay the fine?
My biggest concern is will this be released outside of the store. And if it will be released can a contract be written so that acceptance of payment will prevent release of information? I believe it would be a valid counter-contract where consideration is the sum of money for not releasing the information...holding valid mutual assent. I do understand that this could be rejected because the orginial contract is payment for not seeking a further [court] civil suit.
