If you're doing something pro se (by yourself) and you haven't heard anything back from the other party - or from court - you had best look into the issue as soon as possible. Court is like everything else in life - it moves on and passes you by if you neglect keeping an eye on the issue. There are time limits to everything - the opposing party's time to answer or respond and also your own to respond to court proceedings.
