Ok maybe this will sound rediculous but the charges are real.
My stepson brought his dog with him to my house in June and now that he's back at his mom's he wants him back. 4months have gone by. In August my stepson age 16 insisted he wanted to stay here and that he wanted his dog to stay here as well. I told him I would only pay for shots and get him fixed if he was to be our family dog. He didn't want to part with his own money to pay anything for the dog. Well mom got the boy back because the parenting plan needs to be modified for him to stay here legally. Now the mother is charging us with theft. She is refusing to pay for any of the vet bills or otherwise. The animal control officer I showed my paperwork and the dog to said that it was a civil case and she'd lose because I'm the owner after 30 days. The Officer she filed the criminal charge with is saying he could have us arrested. Will we be arrested?
