somehow I was not aware that this card needed to be updated.
I have worked for my employer for almost 28 years now and they
have decided to have an outside firm handle their payroll, I was ask
to fill an i-9 employment verification form, and I pesented my green
card. 6 week has passed and I got my paychecks on time and like a
time bomb someone reviewing my I-9 descovers that my permanent
green card is not valid I was told by the person who is handleing my
case that i had to fill an I-90 form and pay the $370.00 fee or I will be removed from the companys payroll Can this person do this while I am still
legaly living here in the United States I consder myself a law abiden person
and I have being told by others that I am still in good standing with the
legality of the imigration law I have filed the form I-90 in order to avoid
the lost of income and further confusion Please advise. can I be fired because I did not upgrade my non expired green card? please help.

PS: the card is dated 10/02/1964 port of entry: miani class 0-1

You are still legal and have no problem with immigration. But they have the right as a company to require it if it is their policy that each worker has to comply with new green cards with expiration dates.
