My child was charged with mip/mic in Texas - is that one charge or two separate charges? He admitted to the cop that he had alcohol in the soda bottle he was holding, but he denied drinking it (he had just taken it out of the cooler and didn't have the chance to drink it when the cop came upon him).
The prosecutor refused to drop the mic portion of it because he said the cop had noted that my son admitted to drinking. On the ticket it merely stated that he admitted to having alcohol. Should my son insist on a not guilty plea on the mic charge?
