A last ditch effort by a group of wayward Texas House Democrats to avoid a vote has continued to backfire as the state's House Speaker officially signed civil arrest warrants in an effort to achieve quorum. On Tuesday, House Speaker Dade Phelan (R-Texas) signed warrants for the last remaining 52 runaways after lawmakers cleared the way with an 80 to 12 majority vote.

GOD, I hope there is plenty of video when they take them into the legislative chamber.

P.S. That Texas judge that ruled they couldn't compel really needs to be kicked off the bench. It is very clear in the Texas Constitution that they can be so compelled.

THE TEXAS CONSTITUTION

ARTICLE 3. LEGISLATIVE DEPARTMENT

Sec. 10. QUORUM; ADJOURNMENTS FROM DAY TO DAY; COMPELLING ATTENDANCE. Two-thirds of each House shall constitute a quorum to do business, but a smaller number may adjourn from day to day, and compel the attendance of absent members, in such manner and under such penalties as each House may provide.
