Tax Lien on Commercial Property

if a property has a tax lien attached to it, can i still proceed to lease the space? the space is vacant but is not offered for lease. i knew the owner years ago and would like to lease it. i checked with sf assessor's office and it has several liens attached 04, 05 and 08. can i still proceed to lease it? would i have problems later?

You may still rent it; of course, if it gets sold for taxes, you may be kicked out by the new landlord.
