Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft strong arm robbery

my sisters X stole money from her the other day, I went to get it back and got into a scuffle with him. He had me arrested and I was charged with strong arm robbery. The following morning he went to the states attorney's office and dropped the charges. I need to know what happens from here. Does the state still have to investagate? will I still have to go o court. He said that if I do he will not go testify. Please help. I've never been in trouble before,I have a wife and kids,steady job of fourteen years, a house.I don't want to lose everything. I live in Florida.

Friends and particularly relatives refuse to testify all the time in domestic violence cases and yet the prsecution goes ahead with the cases based on the evidence they have.
