I am in the process of starting a PAC(political action committee.) It will be a group for the overall wellbeing of society(if that's even possible) and not directly linked to any companies, nor will it continuously support any specific candidate, while it may donate to campaigns as the PAC sees fit.
Currently It involves myself and 2 other members. I have filed for an EIN and have received it. When i attempted to get a bank account, in order to file the statement of organization with the FEC, the bank wanted the articles of incorporation.
Is it necessary to incorporate a PAC? If not, what must we do to get rolling, and what are the other options. What legal exposure might we have should we choose to not incorporate?
I'm somewhat stuck and looking for a hand here.
