Family, Other Stepdad is illegal

Hello my name is Mary, and I had a question about my stepdad, he is an illegal living in the us, he is married to my mom for over 8 yrs they have 2 children and she is a is citizen.. Is she able to file for him?? But he don't want him to have to leave the U.S.. He is currently the only provider in their household, my mom doesn't work. Could anyone give me any advice??

Right now he risks getting picked up and deported at any moment.
