My ex wants to hook up and I'm 18 and she's 17. Even if it's her idea can she still lie and get me in trouble? Would a recording of her saying she wants to get together be sufficient enough to prove I'm innocent if anything does happen?

"Can she lie?" is asking if she has the ability to do this, and you obviously know better than anyone here.

"If anything does happen"? Things happen all the time.

I assume your euphemisms ("hook up" and "get together") are referring to sexual intercourse, and, given the subject header of your post, I guess you're concerned about statutory rape. However, consensual sexual intercourse between an 18 year old and a 17 year old is legal in Minnesota. And, if it were statutory rape, then factual consent would not matter in the slightest because an underage person is deemed to be legally incapable of giving consent.

Rather obviously, if you have concerns that any potential sexual partner might make an after-the-fact claim that the sex wasn't consensual, then you shouldn't have sex.

It wouldn't be a crime in Minnesota for the two of you to have sex as long as you both consent to that. But there could be all sorts of other trouble that might result from that, particularly considering that she's your ex.

Just because you wont go to jail doe snot mean there are not other consequences to deal with. I suggest you find another 18 year old or older to satisfy your sexual urges. By the way its VERY rare to for EXs to resolve issues. Using sex as the means to reunite makes it even less likely
