Statue of Limitations?

I officially moved out of a rental property 45 days ago. On my last day, I went over a list of concerns with the landlord, was told everything was in order and ok, and then turned in my key. Today I received written correspondence from the landlord, assessing me for damages they claim to have since found. Whats the statue of limitations for a landlord to contact a former tenant and make complaints and monetary demands?

I can answer my own question now. I called the Attorney General' s office and asked. In my state (NC) its 30 days.
